Competition Details: What You Need to Know

Competition Schedule & Rotations:

The final competition schedule and rotations will be posted shortly after registration closes on November 8, 2026. Once posted, coaches should carefully review all schedule and rotation information and notify us promptly of any errors.

Clubs bringing larger teams should plan accordingly and ensure they have enough coaches on site to cover multiple squads competing within the same session, if necessary.

Once rotations have been finalized and published, our ability to make significant changes will be very limited in order to remain within USA Gymnastics sanction guidelines. We will make every effort to keep teams together whenever possible and appreciate your flexibility as we work to create a smooth, positive competition experience for all athletes.

Gymnastics Beam Balance
Meet Format

The 2027 National Judges Cup will feature two fully equipped competition gyms — Niagara Falls Gym and Horseshoe Falls Gym — featuring SPIETH equipment throughout. Both gyms will operate independently using a Modified Capital Cup format, with dedicated equipment, judging panels, and awards for each gym.

We will make every effort to schedule teams with coaching needs in mind; however, with two gyms operating simultaneously, we cannot guarantee that a club will not have athletes competing in both gyms during the same session. Clubs should plan to have adequate coaching staff available to cover athletes in both competition gyms if necessary. We appreciate your planning and flexibility as we work to provide an efficient, athlete-focused competition experience.

Awards & Gymnast Gifts

Awards

We wanted the awards at the 2027 National Judges Cup to be as memorable as the competition itself! Custom-designed exclusively for the NJC, these high-quality awards were created to capture the excitement and spirit of this special event — and we think every athlete is going to want to take one home! Awards will be presented to 50% of the athletes in each age group based on final scores. We’ve put extra thought into their design to make earning an NJC award something truly special.

Athlete Gifts

Every gymnast competing at the 2027 National Judges Cup will receive a personalized athlete gift created especially for them and distributed at athlete check-in. This isn’t just another meet giveaway — we’ve taken extra care to create something unique that each gymnast can keep as a reminder of their NJC experience. Coaches, please carefully verify the spelling of each athlete’s name during registration, as every gift will be individually personalized for that gymnast.

Team Competition & Team Awards

Team Eligibility
A club is eligible to compete for team awards when it has three (3) or more athletes entered at the same level. There is no need to identify or designate team members prior to the competition — all athletes from the club competing at that level will be considered in the team calculation.

How Team Scores Are Calculated
Team standings will be determined using the three (3) highest scores on each event from the club’s athletes at that level. The athletes whose scores count may vary from event to event.

Team Awards
Team awards will be presented to the top three teams (1st–3rd place) at each level. When a level competes across multiple sessions, team results and awards will be finalized following the last session for that level. Based on the number of participating teams at a particular level, NAWGJ-NYN reserves the right to combine team award divisions when necessary.

Large Team Entries
Clubs entering more than eighteen (18) athletes at one level may have their athletes divided into multiple squads and/or scheduled in separate sessions. Regardless of how the athletes are divided for competition, the club will be considered one team for scoring purposes and will pay only one (1) team fee for that level.
